Marbella Money Laundering
The much publicised Marbella money laundering case continues to grow as a Frenchman is arrested in Portugal in connection with the case.
The Portuguese police arrested a man by the name of Michel Alain Curtet and at the time of the arrest they also found over 6,000 kilos of Cocaine.
Hoax bomb threat in Malaga
A Moroccan man aged 20 has been jalied for making a hoax bomb warning on a flight between Stockholm and Malaga on a Sterling Airlines flight. As a result of the threat the airport was evacuated and caused severe disruption.
Real Estate Fair in Malaga
The real estate fair at the congress hall in Malaga got off to a flying start with some developers launching the promotions of some major new developments. The fair is expected to attract many visitors either interested in buying property or those in the business.
Low cost airlines claim another victim
Air France has operated out of Malaga Airport for over 40 years but has had to give in to the increase in low cost airline operators. As a result they have stopped their 3 flights a day to Paris. These flights are now operated by Air Europa.
Cultural plans for Estepona
Plans for a new arts and science museum in Estepona have been approved by the regional government. It will be located on some land that was previously owned by the Guerrero Foundation.
Golf on Par
The latest figures relating to golf tourism on the Costa del Sol indicate a recovery after a fall over the last 2 years. The golf tourism industry is important to the Costa del Sol and represents around 10% of the entire income generated from tourism. (Marbella Golf Courses)
Antonio Banderas starts shooting
The local born hollywood actor started filming his second film as a film director on November 21st. The film entitled 'El Camino de los Ingleses' is based on a novel written by his friend Antonio Soler. Much of the filming is to actually take place in Malaga itself.
Benalmadena get optic
The town of Benalmadena is getting new fibre optic cable in a bid to improve broadband connections for it's residents.
Malaga to Madrid in just over 2 hours
The service which is planned to start in 2007 wil link Malaga and Madrid by way of the new AVE high speed rail network. The trains will have a top spped of 300 kms per hour and the journey is expected to tale 2 hours 15 minutes. |
