Fuengirola Zoo 2009 Year of the Gorilla

It's the year of the Gorilla at Fuengirola Zoo on the Costa del Sol

Fuengirola Zoo was originally opened in the 70's and ended up in an awful state until it was taken over by Rain Forest in 1998 who had to totally overhaul the zoo in accordance with the “full-immersion zoo” concept.

Having spent lots of time taking advantage of the unique Costa del Sol climate to create sub-tropical gardens and actually replicate the tropical rainforests of Madagascar, Equatorial Africa and Southeast Asia, the zoo was ready to take delivery of its animals and was opened to the public in 2001.
