From art museums to historical monuments and buildings there is no shortage of places to visit up and down the coast, with most towns and cities swathed in history.
Whether it be a visit to one of the beautiful white villages in the hills or the Roman monuments and remains down on the coast you will never fail to be amazed at what the Costa del Sol has to offer in terms of culture.
Malaga City
Malaga is the capital city of the Costa del Sol and his home to the areas airport. Within the city there is so much to explore from the amazing Malaga Cathedral through to the art galleries.
The Baroness Thyssen Museum
A new art gallery for Malaga, The Baroness Thyssen Museum features works from the most famous of Spanish painters, Pablo Picasso as well as works from Joan Mirò and Antoni Tàpies. With the Pablo Picasso museum already a popular attraction for art lovers, the Baroness Thyssen Museum is Malaga is another treat and firmly places Malaga city as a cultural place to visit.
Permission was granted three years ago on 2009 and since then the baroness herself has overseen the 11 million euro construction of the museum in which she has agreed that it will mainly feature art and works from artists of the region of Andalucia although there is a lot of excitement as she will also feature special exhibitions fom artists such as Degas.
